May Membership Meeting Highlights

 

· 05/06/08

· Set a date for a short steward’s training class.  It will take place on Saturday, May 17th at the local from 8-noon.  Some topics covered will be the grievance procedure and some contract issues.

· Formally announced Christi Tabor the winner of the alternate delegate for national convention election.

· Shannon urged everyone to register to vote and participate in the upcoming primary election.

· Steve Stowers urged all members to push for red on Thursdays.  He advised that the company is watching and counting members that wear red.

· Steve also gave a short report of his trip to the legislative conference in DC.  Hillary Clinton and Obama both spoke to the conference but John Mccain was a no show.

· The membership moved to allow the officers to use their discretion for gifts to members for deaths in their families since a bible may not be suitable in all cases.

· Voted to send Christi Tabor to a compliance assistance course.  The course will consists of instruction on correctly filling out federal forms and reporting.
