Welcome to our local!  We are a small local located in Huntington West Virginia with 152 members.  We currently represent members from Verizon and AT&T Wireless.

 

Latest News:

We have a tentative contract!  Thanks for the show of unity during bargaining.  Everything the members did to show we stand together showed Verizon that we would not take cut backs from a company that is showing large profits thanks to the hard work of it’s members.  See the tentative contract details in the news and events section.

VERIZON CONTRACT EXPIRATION IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!!

 

Verizon is trying to slowly weed out the union so they can outsource and contract out our craft jobs.  These actions will eventually choke the company that union labor worked hard to build because NO unskilled, underpaid, uneducated contractor or overseas worker can provide the level of customer service and quality of work that Verizon union employees can.  Union labors are highly trained and educated.  Any union member in the company is at risk to job loss by outsourcing.  If you work in a cubical your job can easily be moved to several Verizon Business locations already established in the Philippines, Argentina, etc.  If you work in the field Verizon would be delighted to contract your job out to any number of SCAB contractors that already perform numerous tasks for Verizon.  Pay raises and good benefits do us no good if we have no job to report to.  Stand strong with the union and be ready to fight for the future of our jobs!  Be ready on Sunday night to take our fight to the street if necessary.  We will not give away our jobs and watch the company crumble at the hands of corporate greed!!
